SUCCESS STORIES
REAL WOMEN. REAL RESULTS.
What happens when you stop looking for the perfect plan, and start finding what works for you?
For more than 30 years, I’ve helped women get stronger, fitter, healthier and happier in themselves.
And their journeys have been very different.
Some wanted to lose weight.
Some wanted to get moving again.
Some needed to find confidence.
Some simply needed someone to help them see things differently.
These are a few of their stories.
IOLA
From barely walking to getting back to the hills.
Iola came to me struggling with sciatica, stenosis and spondylosis. Three years ago, she could hardly walk to the end of her lane.
Slowly, steadily, she started moving again — using my online workouts and a regular dose of encouragement.
And now?
She’s out hill walking.
“Here I am out hill walking — what’s so encouraging is that 3 years ago I could hardly walk to the end of the lane, due to sciatica, stenosis and spondylosis.”
“Noelle’s twice weekly workouts online and the regular ‘kick up the bum’ has played a huge part in getting me back to the hills.”
“The workouts are so suitable to any level, so I was slowly able to push myself to the higher level.”
Iola is refreshingly honest about still having weight to lose … but that’s not what makes this story remarkable.
Getting back to the hills does.
RHI
Several stone lighter — and finally loving what she sees in the mirror.
Rhi had spent years focusing on the scales.
One simple piece of advice from yours truly changed the way she approached things:
“Make a change to make a change.”
She took responsibility for her own choices, learned about accountability and stopped letting the scales tell her how she should feel about herself.
Cold-water swimming helped too!
“You continue to inspire me. Of all your words of wisdom, ‘make a change to make a change’ has been key to my weight loss of several stone.”
“You taught me accountability, taking photos of myself rather than watching scales.”
And perhaps my favourite bit:
“I’ve started to love what I see looking back at me in the mirror, even the little age lines when I smile.”
That is a result worth celebrating.
LINDA
No more Mrs Blobby.
Linda is a keen horsewoman and runner, but pain kept getting in the way.
Whenever she stopped running, she gained weight. And the more she tried to push through the problem, the more frustrated she became.
Then we had a Borrow My Mojo call.
We talked about listening to her body rather than fighting it. Resting more. Walking instead of always running. Protein. Stretching. Recovery.
Nothing extreme. Just a different way of looking at things.
And Linda took it on from there.
She retaught herself a riding position that didn’t cause pain, became one of the most active people I know, and continues to enjoy caring for her beloved horses.
“No more Mrs Blobby.”
And my verdict?
Linda is a total star.
CARON
From serial dieting to the woman she always wanted to be.
Caron had spent much of her life trying to lose weight.
She was a serial weight-loss-club member, constantly yo-yo dieting … increasingly, none of it was fun anymore.
A glamorous, vivacious woman, she didn’t feel able to dress the way she wanted.
She’d also developed a cardiovascular issue which made her wary of exercise.
So we started very simply.
Walking.
Then some work on her husband’s rowing machine.
Then strength work.
And within weeks, something rather wonderful happened.
She started selling her beautiful clothes because they were far too big.
But that’s only the beginning of Caron’s story.
Eight or so years later, she has lost substantial weight, and gone from strength to strength.
She’s joined fitness classes.
She’s qualified as a Personal Trainer herself.
And she now teaches the very class she used to attend.
From worrying about exercise…
…to becoming the woman who teaches it.
Caron is now the glamorously active and gorgeous woman she always wanted to be.
And she bought a gold sequin trouser suit, “just because she could”.
GILL
Breaking the yo-yo cycle
After years of yo-yo dieting, this wasn’t about finding another diet. It was about building healthier habits which Gill could actually live with … and feeling more confident about her future.
“Working with Noelle has been such a journey of motivation and empowerment. After years of struggling with my weight and going from one diet to another, I was really worried about my health and where I was heading. Noelle’s encouraging and supportive approach has helped me make changes that actually fit into my life. Rather than another quick-fix diet, she has helped me understand how to look after myself in a way I can sustain.
I feel healthier, stronger and much more confident that I can keep going.
Most importantly, I feel like I’ve finally broken the cycle of starting again.
Noelle’s knowledge, compassion and genuine passion for helping women make lasting changes are second to none. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”
LISA
Lisa wasn’t particularly interested in making a New Year’s resolution. But with a big birthday approaching, she started wondering whether her relatively sedentary lifestyle was really going to serve her well for the next ten years.
She knew something needed to change — but she’d lost her confidence and didn’t know where to start.
“With a big birthday coming up, I started thinking seriously about my fitness and wondering how my body would cope through the next decade if I carried on with my relatively sedentary life. I knew I had to turn things around, but I’d lost my confidence and didn’t know where to start.”
After finding me online, we started with a chat and then built a programme around strength, mobility and flexibility.
Twice-weekly 1:1 sessions gradually changed much more than her physical fitness.
“Noelle’s knowledge, experience and encouragement has vastly improved not only my physical fitness, but also my confidence and motivation to take on challenges.”
And those challenges have included joining Shrewsbury Parkrun – and a Half Marathon! These felt unrealistic and out of reach when we first met.
“I now feel confident enough to take on challenges, whether that’s joining the Shrewsbury Parkrun, or just knowing I can climb two flights of stairs without hesitation.”
And interestingly, weight loss wasn’t really the point.
“Although I have lost a couple of pounds, weight loss wasn’t my primary goal. The real change has been in my body composition, which has vastly improved. I feel so much better.”
She’s now a regular Park-runner, with new running challenges ahead.
The result?
Stronger. Fitter. More confident. And looking forward to what the next decade might bring.
IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT.
Sometimes the result is getting back on a hill.
Sometimes it’s becoming stronger.
Sometimes it’s learning to listen to your body.
Sometimes it’s putting on clothes you love again.
Sometimes it’s simply looking in the mirror and liking the woman looking back.
And sometimes…
it’s discovering that you’re capable of far more than you thought.
WHAT WILL YOUR STORY BE?
You don’t need to be fitter.
You don’t need to lose weight.
You don’t need to have everything sorted.
You just need to decide that you’d like something to change.
And that’s where we can start.
