I fail on a daily basis. It starts with “I’ll do some yoga / weights / press ups blah blah blah today” I then open my ipad and everything changes.
There’s all the Stuff To Do, always. You know this.
For me, the Not Doing spirals in thoughts of not-enoughness – yes, even Personal Trainers suffer with self-doubt. I’m no longer as fit flexible, or strong as I once was when I first started teaching fitness 30 years ago. On bad days, these thoughts proliferate into “I cannot do my job today”. So then I might tumble into stupid ideas that I need to join Hyrox, do more weights, or resume running.
Reality Check Time.
If I we get fit by doing all those things, we have to KEEP DOING those things to stay that fit. Its basically like the never-ending cycle of dying your hair … and many of us stopped doing that a great many years ago.
Never compare and despair. Work with your heart instead.
Add activities and healthy foods which make you feel gooooood, more often, to more of your days.
Anything else is as temporary as a set of highlights.
Right, I’m now off out for a walk. TTFN.
