Sometimes you can be caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
You wanna stay strong, and do impact for strong bones. But workouts like that makes you hurt like crazy in shins, knees, feet, hips … even spine.
Good news.
This might just be as fixable as buying new cushions for the sofa.
When you exercise, the forces travelling down your leg at each foot strike are from 4 – 8 x your body weight (more if you do impact). So for a jumpy runny active type of workout it can feel like being trampled by something rather heavy.
So avoid the elephant effect and GO SHOPPING!
Take you and your feet to a good running shop (nope – you don’t need to be a runner). Ask for help.

Get trainers that are –
- Cushioned, supportive – feel like a sofas on your feet
- Designed for what you do – they’re all different
- Should be really comfy straight away
- Pay for “tech” – get last years’ top of the range in a Sale
- Avoid fashion trainers
