Read this if you want to tone up, lose weight and get a bit fitter, I’ll get right to the point as I know you’re busy. I want you to have all this info as it might affect what you do next.
SLIMMING CLUBS
Dieting does not work long-term.
If they did, we would not be in the middle of an obesity epidemic at the moment – when every other woman seems to be either on a diet or just about to go on a diet.
Ok you might lose significant weight whilst you’re with them or on their diet.
But that very often stops when you stop doing the diet and get back to normal eating. Unless you make real lifestyle change, beyond dieting, weight lost whilst dieting is statistically highly likely to be regained in time.
I won’t go into scientific detail here as it would take me way too long. But a Slimming Club will breed dependence, take your money … and quite possibly leave you feeling more insecure about your body than you were before.
(No…I don’t like Slimming Clubs like Weight Watchers, or Slimming World!)
THE GYM
A Gym Membership will take your money and tie you in (even if you never go).
Ok you might become one of those women who become “gym bunnies” and live in the place, love the atmosphere, and wear lycra all day.
OR, you might be like most women over 40 (me included here) and NOT like the machines
You may NOT like being watched, and NOT particularly enjoy going because you find it intimidating, boring and /or pointless.
One gym session might cost you ££££ because you go once, then not again.
The Gym business itself will not mind if you don’t go.
(And that is how many gyms and leisure centres make their money).
A PAYG FITNESS CLASS
I started in the fitness business almost 30 years ago, in November 1993. In that time I’ve run and been to a great many many fitness classes.
I know it can be very hard indeed to find a good fitness class which suits you for time and place.
Plus if its payg, trust me, you will start to find reasons not to go.
I used to run payg fitness classes. I realised about 20 years ago that they simply do not give people what they want and need. Paying for just one workout at a time won’t provide accountability, support or knowledge … and it wont necessarily give you the results you want.
Crikey, to be honest, the Instructor possibly doesn’t even know your name, let alone why you’ve come. And they probably won’t check in with you if you stop going.
Why am I telling you all this?
It’s where I come in. If you’ve read this then you’ve probably tried Gyms, Classes and Diets … so you know what I say is right. My On Demand Workouts with Noelle group on Facebook fits in where all the others fail.
In my 3 decades of teaching fitness and weight loss, I’ve found what REALLY WORKS, especially for women over 40! All you do is just take a look here – and decide if its for you or not.
